Packing Properly

How and when you pack your items will play a part in the success of your move. Don't wait until the last minute to begin packing. Instead, begin the packing process a few weeks before you move. Now it's extremely important that you protect all of those precious items you've worked so hard to attain. You'll most likely find yourself moving fragile items like mirrors, side tables made of glass and even a flat screen TV or two. Be sure to use extra padding on these items prior to placing them in moving boxes. This will give them extra cushioning and support. If you need to ship bed frames or other pieces of furniture that you may have difficulty with, ask your movers for their professional advice on packing tips.

Another tip is to be aware and use logic when packing. For example, if you have an excess of jewelry or other valuable personal items, you will obviously want to take these items with you to avoid them being damaged. Remember: even the strongest boxes and plastic bins are subject to damage during a move if you stuff them with items or if they are not arranged properly in the moving truck. Please note that all claims must be submitted with 9 months after the date of delivery. This timeframe is the moving industry standard, and is applied to all inter-state moves.

All claims will be settled based on your insurance agreement, along with the terms that you agreed to on your Bill of Lading. If there is any dispute regarding the weight and/or worth of the subject, you may need to contact the manufacturer for proof. No claims will be processed if you have an outstanding balance on your account.
